Manchester United order Antero Henrique to complete Corentin Tolisso transfer
According to French publication Le10Sport (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United have sought out Antero Henrique to complete the signing of Corentin Tolisso.
The French World Cup-winning midfielder has seen opportunities hard to come by under Bayern boss Hansi Flick. Tolisso has made just 12 appearances under Flick, playing the whole 90 minutes just twice
With him failing to land a spot in the starting XI, the Germans are willing to part with the player in the upcoming window.
With Paul Pogba’s future currently under scrutiny, United could be in the market for a midfielder if the Frenchman leaves. Pogba’s French teammate Tolisso has been identified as the perfect replacement.
The man put in charge of making the move happen is agent Antero Henrique. He played a key role in the signing of Bruno Fernandes last January after working on that transfer since last summer.
The same age as Fernandes, Tolisso has been touted as the ideal partner for our Portuguese wizard.
Injuries galore
Tolisso joined Bayern from Lyon in 2017 for an initial €41.5million fee. This was at that time a club and league record. He enjoyed a fruitful first season before injuring his cruciate ligament in 2018.
He missed the best part of the next six and a half months and has since fallen down the pecking order (h/t Transfermarkt).
Injuries have never let him prosper at the Allianz Arena. He has so far missed 47 matches in his three years in Germany. Meanwhile, he has made just 68 appearances, scoring 14 goals and 12 assists.

A member of France’s 2018 World Cup-winning squad, Tolisso’s ability is not in question. However, his fitness is and United will do well to ensure his injuries are behind him before sanctioning a move.
