Manchester United offer Alexis Sanchez to Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho
According to Spanish publication, Mundo Deportivo (h/t Metro), Manchester United have offered Alexis Sanchez in part exchange for Jadon Sancho.
The Borussia Dortmund wonderkid is one of the most sought-after players in world football. Despite being just 20, he has scored 17 goals and has provided 20 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
United are extremely interested in signing him. One major hurdle is his value, which is well over £100million. The Red Devils have tried to force the issue by offering several players in exchange including Sanchez.
To call the Chilean a flop at Old Trafford would be an understatement. He has been a disaster on and off the pitch with United desperate to get him off the rolls.
The 31-year-old earns a mammoth £500,000 per week at United. There is optimism at Old Trafford that the Germans will be keen on the Chilean despite his immense wages.
The Chilean’s stint in Inter has been anything but an abject failure. He has continued to struggle with both form and fitness. The Italians will not be signing the player permanently once his loan expires.
Dortmund have previously helped a number of struggling stars turn their careers around. The most recent being Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer.
Whether Dortmund are willing to take a chance on Sanchez or not remains to be seen. With the coronavirus crisis affecting club finances, getting rid of Sanchez’s wages is a priority.
He has failed to reproduce the form he showed at Barcelona and Arsenal, and is a far call from the match-winner he once was.

Signing Sancho while getting rid of Sanchez would be akin to killing two birds with one stone.
Not only do we get a massive star on our rolls but also have rid ourselves of a huge liability. To put things into perspective, United have spent a combined £64.65m on the player.
