However, Woodward and Matt Judge remain in charge of all transfer dealings, starting from fees to contracts.
A number of names have been linked with the role of the sporting director at Manchester United over the last few years. However, as per the report, the 20-time English champions have decided not to appoint anyone for the role. (h/t The Athletic)
The reason behind this move is the increased role that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been playing in transfer handlings at the club.

Solskjaer, in his first summer window in charge, brought in Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James. The trio have been instant hits at the club. The winter window saw United sign Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo. Both of them have made an immediate impact at the club.
Seeing the recent success that the club has enjoyed in the transfer market, United have now reportedly decided to stick with current setup and not bring in a director of football. (h/t The Athletic)
