Marcus Rashford closing in on Manchester United return
According to the Sun, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is closing in on a return to training after an injury setback. He was at the training ground on Monday to finish treatment on a serious back injury.
The 22-year-old England ace has been out of action since January after suffering a double stress fracture in his back.
He looked to have had his season ended and was in serious doubt of making the European Championships. The coronavirus shutdown has given the player time to recover and is raring to go once the season resumes.
Rashford visited the club’s Carrington training complex and spoke with the club doctors. He also spent time in the gym, where he worked on regaining his fitness after more than three months out.
The player was in great spirits and looked happy to be back. His return should give United an impetus to push forward and overtake Chelsea for the fourth spot, once the season resumes.
The United No.10 has scored 19 goals and 5 assists in 31 appearances before an injury threatened to end his season. It appears as if Rashford will get chances to add to that tally once the season resumes.
Both Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo have lit up the United attack since their arrival in January. The addition of Rashford will add more bite to the frontline.
