Charlie Nicolas claims Aubameyang has no interest in Man United transfer
According to a report by The Mirror, former Arsenal striker Charlie Nicolas has claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has no interest in a transfer to Manchester United.
The Arsenal captain’s contract will expire in the summer of 2021 and as of now, there has been nothing to suggest that a new deal could be in the works.
The likes of Robin van Persie and Alexis Sanchez chose to depart Arsenal for United. While the former became widely successful at Old Trafford, the latter hasn’t been so lucky.
Aubameyang has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in the Premier League since foregoing Borussia Dortmund’s yellow for Arsenal’s red. Having won the Golden Boot last season, the 31-year-old is capable of transforming the fortunes of any top side.
Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t The Mirror), the player-turned-pundit said: “Would he want to be a part of a superstar reload at Manchester United? Is there a great appeal to that?”
He went on to add that if the links were to either Liverpool or Manchester City, he would get it. But he believes that United are “miles away” from the top two and did not see any appeal (h/t The Mirror).
Nicolas also cautioned the Gunners about the prospect of losing Aubameyang and urged them to retain him at all costs, as per the report.

Signing a player like Aubameyang would be a massive boost for us. However, United must sign him only – and only if – the player is truly interested in joining us.
