Manchester United seek buyers for Old Trafford flop Alexis Sanchez
Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United has not gone as expected. The Chilean has massively underperformed and is currently out on loan at Inter Milan.

Signed from Arsenal in 2018, Sanchez has struggled to replicate the same form he showed at the Emirates. The 31-year-old has made 38 appearances for United, scoring three goals and six assists.
This accounts for a goal contribution of 0.23 per game for United. The figure pales significantly from the 0.72 per game he achieved at Arsenal.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer had earlier commented that the Chilean still has a future at Old Trafford. It now appears to have been a ploy by the Norwegian to protect Sanchez’s value in the summer. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
Sanchez is contracted up to 2022 at Old Trafford with Inter not having the option to sign the player at the end of his loan.
United need strikers in the summer and selling Sanchez should free up funds to do so. An improved showing in the second half of the season at the San Siro should drive up the player’s value.

The 31-year-old provided the assist for Matias Vecino’s equalizer as Inter came from two goals down to win the Milan derby 4-2. The win helped Antonio Conte’s side leap log Juventus to top spot. Inter have not won the Scudetto since 2010.
