Barcelona forward Lionel Messi wants Paul Pogba at the club, according to Eduardo Inda of OK Diario (h/t Express).
Pogba has been linked with a move away from Manchester United but we reported that the Frenchman would not be thinking of a transfer before the summer window.
The Frenchman was to stay at United till the end of the season but the report claims a winter loan deal is a possibility.
Inda was quoted by the Express as saying:
“Messi has asked for Pogba, but the problem of Barça is the Financial Fair Play.
“They have a chance to bring Pogba in winter on loan with a purchase option.”
Contract negotiations between Pogba and United have been kept on hold too and the Frenchman didn’t exactly suggest he would be staying at the club for a long time.
The Frenchman was quoted by BBC Sport during the international break as saying:
“My future is currently in Manchester.
“I still have a contract, I am playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the next few months.”
Pogba hasn’t been at his best at United ever since he rejoined us from Juventus. His form for the national side, however, has been much better as he helped them win the World Cup over the summer.

The midfielder is one of the best in the world and there is a lot of interest in him. Barcelona star Luis Suarez had stated that Pogba would be welcome at the club but we have to do everything to keep hold of him for as long as possible.
