Well, surely it isn’t the time to talk about the transfers, but reports from the Swedish publication Aftonbladet are stating that Manchester United are currently targeting Falkenberg’s 18-year-old wonder kid Jesper Karlsson.
The attacker is currently one of the hottest prospects in the industry and the same source has stated that his club is willing to release the 18-year-old if they get a bid. Well, the player himself stated that he is being chased by a number of top European clubs and one of them is Manchester United.
The 18-year-old Falkenbergs forward hinted he was pleased to be linked with the club and described the transfer speculation as ‘fun’.
Speaking to Aftonbladet, he said: “Of course it’s fun, but I cannot do anything more than just go out, do my best and perform. If they check and they think I’m good, that’s just a plus.”
Although, his club’s director of football – Hakan Nilsson – remained calm about the entire situation and stated about United’s apparent interest and also said it was a ‘possibility’ they were keen on him.
He added: “It’s a possibility they [United] have expressed an interest. Just like a number of other major clubs.”
Karlsson has made 27 appearances this season and has scored eight goals and two assists, and that surely is a great stat for a player of his age.
If the 18-year-old joins the Devils, he would become the fifth Swede to play for the side during the Premier League era, after Jesper Blomqvist, Bojan Djordjic, Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
