Manchester United are reported to be in regular contact with Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra for a move to Old Trafford in the summer according to Foot Mercato. The player has revealed that there is a strong possibility that he will leave in the summer.
The player has had a wonderful season this time and Manchester United are front runners for the player’s signature. The only obstacle is the player’s age. At 31 he is near the end of his career and nearly past his prime. However, with Carrick’s contract expiring at the end of the season Manchester United are set to lose the player and will need a replacement. The new recruit Bastian Scweinsteiger has not been able to live up to the expectation.
Diarra has experience at top level and also in the Premier League. However, will United bring in a player who is about to retire in a few more years? Doubt it.
