Guardiola Doesn’t Want Schweinsteiger For Next Season: Why Manchester United MUST Bid For Him

The top players who win everything there is to offer at club level, can reach a point where they want a new challenge and Manchester United will certainly offer one.

The Daily Mirror reports that Pep Guardiola will look to continue implementing his style of play at Bayern Munich, by showing Bastian Schweinsteiger the door.

According to Spanish based journalist and Revista de la Liga pundit Graham Hunter, Guardiola is willing to part with the German international because he doesn’t move the ball quick enough.

Schweinsteiger would be the first major departure that Guardiola would enforce on Jupp Heynckes’ historic treble winning side of 2013 and he is certainly not afraid to make that kind of decision.

In his first year at Barcelona, he could see that adverse effect on the dressing room that superstars Ronaldinho and Deco were having and he cut them loose without a second thought.

Schweinsteiger has endured another injury plagued season, in which he made only 23 league appearances, contributing four goals and four assists. (Squawka)

His poor injury record and doubts over his future fitness are more reasons why Bayern Munich are considering letting him go.

They may feel he does not have the stamina or speed of distribution needed for Guardiola’s 4-3-3 pressing game.

It comes down to the player’s personality, if he has played his final game for Bayern, where does he want to finish his career?

Would he want to link up with his former coach Louis van Gaal, in the most exciting league in the world, with one of the biggest clubs and not play in the Champions League?

Or join a weaker league like Ligue 1 or Serie A and make a lot of money?

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds but Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford should not be ruled out.
