Moyes Out, Mourinho In? Why I Want The Chelsea Boss To Take Over At Old Trafford

After 27 years in charge, Sir Alex Ferguson officially left his post at Manchester United last year and left some incredibly big shoes to fill at Old Trafford. David Moyes was the man who stepped into them, but after 10 months in charge he was shown the exit today after a dismal season. United currently sit in seventh place and won’t be in the Champions League next season and probably won’t be in the Europa League. But who is going to come in? My vote goes for Jose Mourinho.

Don’t shoot me down.

The Portuguese coach, in my eyes, would jump at the chance to manage United. He has always been seen as the natural Fergie replacement for many of our fans and I think the lure of 76,000 fans and the status of the club would be too much.

He has proved to us all how clever he is tactically, and his home form at Chelsea speaks for itself. The Blues’ loss to Sunderland last week was the first home loss under Mourinho in something like 80 games.

For me he ticks all the boxes. He has experience in the Premier League, has won almost every competition available and can handle the pressure.

Get him in.

  1. Mourinho would guarantee immediate success but would also be too controversial for a club like United.
