Manchester United: Play 4-1-4-1, Start Mata And Let Rooney Lead The Line vs West Ham

David Moyes redeemed himself a little bit this week after Manchester United progressed into the final eight of the Champions League. However, all hope was killed when we drew Bayern Munich in the next round. Ignoring the European impossibilities United travel to West Ham tomorrow, and this is how I would line the team up in East London.

I would go with a 4-1-4-1 formation with David De Gea in goal. At right-back I would go with Rafael, and on the left side of defence I would opt for Patrice Evra. Who else have we got, after all?

In the middle I would go for Rio Ferdinand and Phil Jones as Nemanja Vidic is suspended.

Michael Carrick would get the nod in the holding spot of my midfield.

In the two central slots just ahead I would have Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata, with Adnan Januzaj on the left. Antonio Valencia would take up the right wing if he is available and I would have Wayne Rooney leading the line.

West Ham are an organised team so a deal of fluidity will have to exist if we are to win, but here is how I would line the players up.

                                De Gea

Rafael   Ferdinand                  Jones    Evra

                              Carrick

Valencia     Fellaini              Mata    Januzaj

                            Rooney
