Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face West Brom In The Premier League

Manchester United face West Brom on Sunday and would want to seal a win to stay 2nd in the table.

After the emphatic 3-2 comeback derby victory at the Etihad last weekend, Jose Mourinho’s team are 4 points clear of Liverpool.

While United remain 13 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s team, finishing 2nd and winning the FA Cup is the only way to finish the season positively.

West Brom, on the other hand, are Championship bound and remain without a win since January.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

The world’s best goalkeeper, De Gea is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

Valencia has been a vital cog in United’s machine and he would certainly start on Sunday.

Chris Smalling (CB)

For all the criticism he has attracted over the years, Smalling has always found a way to silence his naysayers. He has been in good form lately and must start against the Baggies.

Eric Bailly of Manchester United
Eric Bailly

Eric Bailly (CB)

Bailly brings a lot of solidity to the United backline with his aggression and power. He is the club’s most reliable defender when fully fit.

Ashley Young (LB)

A player reborn under Mourinho, Ashley Young has made the left-back position his own this season.

Nemanja Matic (CM)

Matic will be one of the keys to setting the tempo and winning the game against the Baggies.

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba (CM)

Against City last weekend, Pogba showed what he is actually capable of doing. When he is at his best, it is difficult to stop him. The Frenchman would look to build on from his match-winning performance against City.

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

Sanchez has started to find his feet at United after the international break. A sure starter at the weekend.

Jesse Lingard (CAM)

Lingard has been terrific and is a man with top-level confidence right now, running frantically all over the field, doing mazy runs and scoring goals.

Juan Mata (RW)

He was omitted from the starting line-up against City but should be recalled for Sunday’s game. The Spaniard’s vision and ability to open up defences is next to nothing, which makes him such a vital player for United.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku has got his swagger back in the last couple of months, scoring goals in almost every game. He is simply oozing with confidence and will be raring to go against the Baggies on Sunday.
