Manchester United Pass Master Reveals Key Injury Update Ahead Of Celta Vigo Clash

Juan Mata

Manchester United star Juan Mata has offered an encouraging update regarding his fitness as he continues to progress towards being match fit for Man United.

Sky Sports revealed that Juan Mata underwent a surgery last month and has been recovering from his injury in recent weeks. He was named on the bench for the game against Swansea City, which Manchester United drew 1-1. He remained an unused substitute as Mourinho did not want to take a chance on the midfielder’s fitness. However, the Spaniard has given some happy news to the manager and fans alike and has said that he is ready to play his part whenever the team needs him.

Juan was quoted by Metro,

“As regards to my recovery. I’m very happy and looking forward to helping the team in such an important moment of the year, enjoying myself on the pitch and, hopefully, lifting another trophy.”

Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly picked up injuries in United’s draw against Swansea and it could not have come at a worse time as the Red Devils have already been struggling with injuries to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. United next face Celta Vigo in the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League and Mata wrote,

“In this regard, we’re being very unlucky, but we have to keep looking ahead. I can say, without exaggerating, that they are one of the teams that play better football in Spain, and not only this season. Being back home will be special, but very difficult at the same time. We must perform at our best in order to beat them.”

Mata’s recovery will be key to Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top-4 and also lifting the Europa League as the pass master has been brilliant for United this term. He has managed to win Jose Mourinho’s trust and it looks like the Portuguese boss considers him as a key part of his future plans at Old Trafford.

Mata was sold by Jose Mourinho when the pair were together at Chelsea but now, things appear to have changed and it is good to see.

Maybe Mata will be involved against Celta Vigo? We hope so.
