There are no hidden secrets about the rivalry between the Manchester clubs and in recent times, they have been going head-to-head in almost everything. Times are gone when Manchester United used to be the sole giant in the transfer market, attracting top players with so much ease.

A lot of money is being invested these days and a lot of clubs have started spending mammoth sum on players and United are not alone.

The latest news is that the Manchester Clubs are set to battle it out to sign Leicester City star Kasper Schmeichel in the summer as the clubs look to replace their current first-choice goalkeepers. According to Sun, Mourinho has put Schmeichel on top of his wish list as he looks to prepare for the potential departure of David de Gea (if it happens).

The Spaniard is one of the best in the world and without any doubts; top clubs will be looking to sign him even in the lowest of probabilities. On the other hand, Bravo has not been convincing at all this season and has lost his first-team place to Caballero, after Englishman Joe Hart was loaned out to Torino.

It was also reported that Schmeichel had changed his agent, who managed to negotiate a new contract with his current team, Leicester City.

Schmeichel won the Premier League title with the Foxes last season and has been a real gem for them this season as well, despite their early struggles with the relegation battle. They have managed to pull themselves out of the struggle and are now placed mid-table as it looks almost certain for Leicester to continue their Premier League run.

Schmeichel could prove to be a shrewd addition in case of De Gea’s departure as the Foxes stopper is 30 years old and is well experienced. Though the Dane would cost a good sum of money, the price would go further up if the Manchester clubs go for a battle to sign the 30-year old stopper.

It would be appealing to watch Kasper wear the Manchester United jersey, just like his legendary father Peter Schmeichel.

Schmeichel dreams? Yes, that’s what we are having right now.
