Manchester United now agree fee to sell 27-year-old star to facilitate 23-year-old's signature

As the summer transfer window of the 2024-25 season enters its final stages, one of Manchester United’s star midfielders has decided to part ways with a club and English football as well. One of the top-tier Italian clubs has agreed with the English giants and the player to sign the Scottish international from Old Trafford.

After acquiring some of the big names, including Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui, the Red Devils are keen on streamlining their squad.

Manchester United agree to sell Mctominay to Napoli

As per reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have agreed on a fee to sell their defender Scott McTominay to Napoli. It has been reported that the club-to-club agreement is done with Man United for €30m fee (add-ons included) plus a sell-on clause. The transfer will solely depend on the personal terms between the club and the player.

A product of United’s youth academy, the 27-year-old has been an integral part of the English club since 2013 and has scored 29 goals in a total of 255 appearances. He has already entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, with United holding the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months. However, the Lancaster-born player is all set to find his new home in Naples, where he will join Antonio Conte.

It is worth noting that McTominay stated in only 18 Premier League games last season, and he received a clear message from Erik Ten Hag that he might not be a starter going forward. His move to

Naples has paved the way for his link-up with stellar ballers like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, which could enhance and bring out more from him on the ground.

On the other hand, the completion of McTominay’s deal will help the United to felicitate more funds to intensify their pursuit of the Uruguayan defender Manuel Ugarte, whom they want to rope in from the French club Paris Saint Germain.
