Man United agree deal to sign Chido Martin Obi

As reported by Sky Sports, Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign teenage starlet Chido Martin Obi.

The 16-year-old has been in the news all summer after leaving Arsenal’s academy at the end of last season for a better contract and senior game minutes elsewhere.

Obi was praised highly by his former coach Jack Wilshere not too long ago, the latter having worked with him last term as coach of the Arsenal U18 team.

“He’s been exceptional. I’ve said it before but credit to everyone at the club and at Hale End for the work that they have done with him. He’s adapted so well, helped the team massively at times. Also, credit to his teammates too because they serve him so well, and he’s grateful for that.”

Wilshere speaking to Arsenal’s in-house media team about Obi.

Obi notably scored ten goals against Liverpool in a single game last year.

Born in 2007 in a Copenhagen suburb, Obi moved to Arsenal two years ago from Kjøbenhavns Boldklub.

During his time with Gunners, Obi made 26 academy appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 3 assists.

Big coup for United

Being able to land Chido Martin Obi is huge for United. The summer transfer window keeps getting refreshingly better for the Red Devils.
