Transfer blow for Manchester United as Bayern Munich have almost sealed the deal to sign Olise
According to BBC, Bayern Munich is very close to finalising the deal to sign Crystal Palace superstar and Manchester United target Michael Olise. It was a huge transfer blow for several clubs, including United, who were keen to sign the 22-year-old.
With Olise, the German powerhouses will now try to finalise a deal estimated to be worth approximately £60 million. Although United did show some concrete interest in Olise’s signing, the Red Devils were too late.
Olise’s price tag also played a huge role in the team’s hesitation in finalising their bid. Due to FFP guidelines, the clubs are moving carefully with the transfers this summer.
The fuss behind Olise attracting multiple clubs
Alongside England’s Eberechi Eze, Olise has emerged as a fan favourite during his three years at Palace and one of their most potent offensive players since his joining from Reading in 2021.
The 22-year-old was the hot topic after an impressive last season in which he showed his amazing talent and agility on the ball. The winger recorded six assists and his greatest-ever season total of 10 goals last year in the Premier League.
With an estimated salary of almost £220,000 per week, Olise, 22, will now be moving to Bayern as new manager Vincent Kompany looks to rebuild the team following the team’s first trophy-less season in 12 years in Bavaria.
Manchester United’s previous season did not seem to be something that they would want to remember. Erik Ten Hag is keen on improving his offensive lineup by signing at least one quality forward in the squad this summer.
