Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring Yáser Asprilla
According to sports journalist Guillermo Arango, Manchester United are one of many big-name European clubs after the signature of Watford‘s Yáser Asprilla.
The 20-year-old midfielder, capable of playing both centrally and out wide, has impressed in the EFL Championship with the Hornets in the two seasons he has been with them, having also broken into the senior Colombia national team setup in that time.
Alongside Man United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Bologna, Real Betis, and Real Sociedad are also monitoring his situation.
According to Arango, Watford will only consider a sale if a fee in the region of £30 million were to arrive. The number can be expected to higher given the number of clubs involved as well as their profile.
Asprilla is also a part of the Colombia side set to feature at the 2024 Copa América in the US this summer.
A cheeky signing, if United can manage to pull it off
United are looking for exciting young blood to spark the revolution under a new sporting ownership. Asprilla, proficient in positions the club would like reinforcement in, fits the kind of profile the Red Devils need in general.
Additionally, it’s usually a good bet that a young player is promising when Brighton are in for him.
Of course, there are Champions League-playing clubs in for him as well, like Dortmund and Milan, but given the £30m price tag and the pull of both United and the Premier League, a move up the English footballing pyramid cannot be ruled out for the young Colombian.
