“Should be at the top of their list”- Chelsea target told to snub Blues for Manchester United transfer

Manchester United have offered Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite a significant pay rise.

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is wanted by both Manchester United and Chelsea

Ex-England striker Teddy Sheringham has urged his former club Manchester United to beat Premier League rivals Chelsea to the signing of Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

Michael Olise, 22, is heading into the summer transfer window as a highly coveted commodity following a productive yet injury-hit campaign with Crystal Palace. Hamstring injuries at different junctures of the campaign limited him to only 19 Premier League games but the winger still managed 10 goals and six assists.

The Frenchman’s performances for the Eagles, as a result, has captured the attention of several top Premier League clubs. He has emerged as a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea. The Blues attempted to secure Olise’s signature last summer before a transfer failed to materialise. However, they have revived their interest and are set to battle the Red Devils for the highly-rated attacker’s signing this summer.

Given widespread interest in the Crystal Palace winger, Teddy Sheringham wants Manchester United to make Michael Olise their summer’s top target.

“I’d like to see Michael Olise as a Manchester United player, he has been at the top of his game for Crystal Palace over the last few months of the season,” Sheringham told Genting Casino in an exclusive interview.

“I like him as a winger and United should be looking at players who are the main reason for their current club doing well, in this case Crystal Palace.

“Top players like that, United should be in for them.”

Manchester United’s interest in Olise is understandable as Antony and Jadon Sancho have failed to provide a solution to the right-wing conundrum. The French youth international’s numbers this season immediately make him an upgrade over Antony. Furthermore, he can also operate as an advanced midfielder and as a No.10, and such versatility should bode well for any manager.

Olise is a serious talent and would fit perfectly into the INEOS’ plans of signing young, hungry and gifted youngsters with huge ceiling. He should enhance the Red Devils’ attack while providing quality depth, something Erik ten Hag’s squad lack in certain areas of the pitch.

That said, we think Sheringham is spot on with his views on Olise and Man United must go all out to bring the Palace star to Old Trafford this summer.
