Juventus re-enter race for Jadon Sancho’s transfer

Manchester United have decided that they will permanently sell Jadon Sancho this summer and have slapped the English international with a price tag of £40 million.

Despite spending £73 million on his acquisition from Borussia Dortmund, Sancho has not performed well at Old Trafford and United are ready to cut their losses as well as nullify his wage expense.

As he is one of the highest-earning members of the team, the Red Devils are not prepared to let him go out on another loan spell and will only entertain permanent offers for Sancho.

Dortmund, where he spent the latter part of last season on loan, have made no secret about their intention to bring in the forward permanently but are unlikely to afford a move for him.

The Bundesliga giants are planning several other acquisitions, including that of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, and a £40 million spending on Sancho is seeming unlikely at the moment.

Juventus, who have previously lodged enquiries for Sancho, continue to retain interest in the 24-year-old and are willing to offer him a chance to rekindle his career, according to Daily Mail.

With Thiago Motta’s arrival at the helm, the Serie A giants will be expected to contend for the Italian top-flight next season and will also be a participant in the Champions League.

Given that there will be a young name in the dugout, they could also employ an offensive brand of football unlike what Massimiliano Allegri did, which could work out perfectly for Sancho.

Moreover, in the Serie A, he will be able to focus on regaining his stature as one of the best wingers in a relatively low-pressure scenario and more importantly, without the English media’s constant scrutiny.

It goes without saying that Sancho will need to accept a reduction in his financial packet to secure a move to Turin, but it will be a golden opportunity for him to get his career back on track.

It appears unlikely that his public spat with Erik ten Hag will resolve itself and the best solution for all parties involved would be to go separate ways sooner rather than later.
