Omari Forson has decided to leave Manchester United for AC Monza
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United attacker Omari Forson is set to join Serie A side AC Monza.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Omari Forson, 19, had decided to leave Manchester United at the end of June upon the expiry of his contract, despite the club offering him a new deal. The Red Devils had tabled multiple contract proposals but an agreement was never reached, with the player and his entourage turning them down.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has taken to his official X account to confirm that Omari Forson has agreed personal terms with AC Monza and will leave Manchester United on a free transfer to play in Serie A next season. The teenager will pen a contract at the Brianteo Stadium until June 2028.
Forson, who usually operates as a right-winger but can also play as a No.10 or on the left-hand side of the attack, joined Manchester United’s youth ranks from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2019.
After working his way up in our club’s youth setup, he made his senior debut in the 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup in January.
Erik ten Hag has given the youngster sporadic chances in the first team to impress, trusting experienced players such as Marcus Rashford, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho more in wide areas this season. As a result, Forson will leave Old Trafford this summer having assisted just once in seven appearances.
The England youth international wants to play more regularly at the senior level and gain experience so he can develop as a footballer. Man United offered him a new contract was an indicator that the club wanted to keep hold of him, but Forson has other ideas.

Romano’s transfer update on Forson doesn’t come as a surprise to us. The 19-year-old’s potential move to Monza gives him a greater chance of featuring regularly in the first team, and his decision to leave England for Italy at such a young age is a brave one. We wish Forson all the very best!
