Manchester United are ready to outbid Bayern Munich for Joao Palhinha.

Two key officials could be responsible for Manchester United’s delayed decision on the future of Erik ten Hag

Not a lot of people expected Manchester United to keep Erik ten Hag at OId Trafford once the season ended. Yet here we are ten days after the last game and the club is yet to take a decision on the Dutchman’s future.

It is safe to say that the Red Devils’ win over Man City to lift the FA Cup could have caused this delay. Manchester Evening News reports that Dan Ashworth and Omar Berrada being on leave could be behind this delay.

Ashworth has been on gardening leave ever since Newcastle United learned of his intent to go to Old Trafford. Former Man City boss, Omar Berrada on the other hand won’t be taking his post as CEO until the 13th of July.

It is possible that we won’t hear anything on the future of Erik ten Hag until these two key members are in the offices of Manchester United. However, can the Red Devils truly afford to wait for such a long time?

Reports claim Bayern Munich were having a very difficult time finding a replacement for Thomas Tuchel until they decided to take a shot on Vincent Kompany. Things could be even tougher for Man United now that we’re into June.

Managers are quickly being snagged up by teams and soon there might not be any left on the market. Any managers who are capable of leading Manchester United that is.
