Manchester United-linked manager has confirmed he will be a free agent this summer
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United managerial target, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he will be leaving Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich this summer. Over at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag could also be getting ready to leave.
The Dutchman has been at the end of a truly unfortunate campaign for the Red Devils. The team currently sits eighth on the table and have next to no chance of qualifying for the Europa League next season.
Man United needs to beat Man City on 25th May and best Newcastle United’s result this Sunday to do so. While they might be able to beat the Magpies, the Red Devils will surely be facing an insurmountable task as they take on the Blues in the FA Cup finals.
With a lack of quality managers in the market, there was some talk going around that suggested that Munich could be looking to retain Tuchel for the next season. However, it seems it was all just speculation.
Now, Man United have a real opportunity on their hands. The team wishes to go back to their winning ways and Tuchel could be the man who gets them there. His time with Chelsea was fruitful so he is already used to winning in England.
While there is no guarantee of success and unproven manager like Erik ten Hag pales in front of Thomas Tuchel who has enough accolades to show for himself.
