Christian Eriksen part of the group of players Man United are willing to let go this summer
According to the Manchester Evening News, as per an ESPN report, Manchester United are willing to let Christian Eriksen go ahead of next season.
The Red Devils are looking for a proper clearout in the summer and plan to reach double figures in player departures.
The departures are being planned not only to generate funds for player acquisitions but also to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
In what has been another underwhelming season for Man United, Eriksen has found minutes hard to come by. A knee injury kept him away from the field for ten games across club and international football in the first half of the season. When he has played, performances have not been convincing.
The 32-year-old has one more year remaining on his £150k-a-week contract, having arrived at the club on a free transfer in 2022 after a six-month spell with Brentford.
It’s time
In the larger scheme of things, when you think about it, it’s hard to be anything but happy for Eriksen and his family given what transpired at the Euros three years ago.
In the much less important yet presently pertinent matter of football, however, it makes sense for Man United to let the Dane go.
With one year remaining on Eriksen’s contract, United would not only manage to free up the wage bill but also book some profit off his sale.

Eriksen will forever be treasured and celebrated for what he has already given to football and thought of with care due to what he has endured in recent years, but his time at the level United aim to reach is behind us, and it’s best for all parties included to part ways and start new chapters separately.
