A struggling Manchester United player had his agent fly in to discuss his future with the club.
As reported by The Daily Mail, ACF Fiorentina midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat’s agent has already held talks with Manchester United. The club will most likely opt against activating the option to acquire the Morrocan on a permanent basis.
Sofyan Amrabat has struggled to make an impact during his loan spell with the Red Devils. The 27-year-old has made 27 appearances for the club without recording a single-goal contribution. He has also been affected by injuries which have seen him fall even further down Erik ten Hag’s pecking order.
The Red Devils have already paid a sum of £8.5m to get Amrabat on loan for this season. However, the possibility of them paying an extra £21.4m to retain him permanently is next to zero at this point.
It is being suggested that Amrabat could be moving to Saudi Arabia this summer. A lot of Saudi teams would be willing to pay a decent amount for the 27-year-old and Fiorentina could pounce on the opportunity.
However, going to Saudi will most likely spell an end to Amrabat’s chances of playing for a top-flight club again. He might’ve had a poor season but that doesn’t mean Sofyan is a bad player.
If the Morrocan had been playing for any club other than Man United this season, his performance would’ve looked much different. So a move to the Saudi Pro League could be a little immature.
