Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag’s upcoming clash against Newcastle United could be his last at Old Trafford

Manchester United have two games left to play this season and the first one will be against Newcastle United at Old Trafford. As the Red Devils get ready to play their last game at home, it could also end up being Erik ten Hag’s last game at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman was asked ahead of the clash whether he believes tonight will be his last night at Old Trafford or not. Ten Hag doesn’t see it that way. Here’s what the Dutchman had to say on the subject. (h/t Fabrizio Romano)

“It’s not how I feel it and how I see it”.

“It is not the way I go to start that lap of honour for the fans, no. The answer to the questions you made so often: same answer”.

From the looks of it, the Dutchman has full confidence that he will be getting another chance to run it back. In all fairness, Erik ten Hag has had to deal with an abnormal amount of injuries this season, with over 60 separate incidents recorded.

During his first season with United, the Dutchman had some semblance of a healthy team which he led to a third place finish and the Carabao Cup. So, the Red Devils shouldn’t count him out before giving him another chance.

A few good signings during the summer will allow Manchester United to add more depth to the squad. They will also need to replace some key figures in their defensive line, now that Raphael Varane is confirmed to leave and Jonny Evans could be next in line.
