Gary Neville backs Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag in disagreement with Liverpool legend
Former Manchester United skipper, Gary Neville believes the owners should give more time to Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has produced some atrocious results during his second season at the helm.
Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher believes that the time has come for United to let go of Ten Hag. However, Gary Neville disagrees, the former Red Devils even cited Bayern Munich’s example to make his point. Let’s have a look. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“I don’t see a suitable replacement for Ten Hag available.”
“Bayern Munich are struggling to find a replacement, others are struggling. I think we need to stick with Ten Hag and give him one more season”
Neville indicated that an injury-free season is important to properly gauge whether this season was an anomaly or not. The former Red Devil also complimented the quality of the players and managers.
He stated that everyone on that team was great before signing for United, so something is fundamentally wrong with the club. Hopefully, the new owners will bring about a much-needed change at Old Trafford.
Neville is right to ask United to keep Ten Hag. There are a lot of clubs looking for new managers while there’s not enough quality to go around. So, Manchester United should try and take a leap on the Dutchman next season.
Erik ten Hag showed some promising signs during his first season at the club. If it wasn’t for all the injuries this season, we might’ve seen a competitive Manchester United side for once.
