Man United face yet another injury blow as 28-year-old star suffers setback in recovery
Manchester United star, Luke Shaw has not been having the season he hoped he would. The 28-year-old defensive ace has made just 15 appearances for the team this season, recording just one assist.
He has been one of United’s most affected stars amid their ongoing injury crisis. Shaw has missed a total of 34 games this season due to multiple injuries. He has been out of action since February, but the fans were hopeful of a comeback near the end of the season.
However, as confirmed by Erik ten Hag, the 28-year-old star has suffered a setback in his recovery. Grave news for United who are preparing to play the FA Cup final this month. Let’s have a look at what the Dutchman had to say about Shaw’s condition. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“Luke Shaw had a setback in his process as well but there is still a hope and he will fight to be available for the [FA Cup] final.”
So, while there is still a chance, there is no actual guarantee that Luke Shaw will be available for the team’s FA Cup final against Man City. Terrible news for Erik ten Hag who is gearing up to play the biggest game of the season.
Following United’s loss against Arsenal, the team now has the smallest of chances at grabbing a top-six spot this season. So, Man United have failed on all fronts this season except for the FA Cup.
Losing that as well will more than likely put an end to Erik ten Hag’s time at the helm of the Old Trafford squad. But, we can’t count them out just yet as all of the Dutchman’s players will be fighting to be available on 25th May.
