Erik ten Hag sends out FA Cup final ultimatum to Manchester United stars, Bruno and Fernandes not exempted
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has issued a warning to star players Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes after the loss to Arsenal on Sunday night.
The England international has been missing in action since United’s infamous FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City last month. The team captain, Fernandes, on the other hand, is currently out due to a knock to the knee.
The Dutchman has said that the two players, albeit having returned to training, need to prove there that they can train hard enough for matchdays, or they will miss the final game of the season.
“If you want to go into a hard game like the cup final you need the game practice and they [Fernandes and Rashford] know that.”

The defeat at home against Arsenal further derails what has been one of United’s worst seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013. Anything less than victories in their last two league games will cement this as their worst post-Sir Alex Premier League season, period.
They’re both likely to make the bench
Given they’re both back in training already, and that little else remains of import for Ten Hag apart from the FA Cup final rematch against Man City, it is very likely we will see both Rashford and Fernandes at least make the bench for the Wembley affair.
The Dutchman is very possibly going to be shown the exit door at the end of the season but will want to leave with another trophy added to his CV.

At this point, United can afford to be without Rashford, but they will want their captain back as soon as possible, and we may even see him get a run on the pitch before the league campaign ends.
