New stat shows the playmaking dominance of Manchester United skipper, Bruno Fernandes over last 3 seasons.
Manchester United skipper, Bruno Fernandes has probably been the Red Devils’ most important player this season. The Portuguese midfielder has made 45 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side recording 15 goals and 11 assists.
Fernandes scores a lot of goals for a midfielder, but scoring goals is not where the 29-year-old shines. He is a playmaker through and through and does an extremely good job at creating chances for his teammates.
A stat by Squawka reveals that Fernandes has created the most amount of chances in a single Premier League game within the last three seasons. In fact, he is the only midfielder to create nine or more chances in a game during that time.
United’s last game against Burnley was another masterclass by Fernandes and he finished the game with nine chances created. However, the Red Devils were wasteful and none of the chances created by Bruno were converted into goals.
The only goal United did score came through Antony who capitalised off the opposition’s error. Clearly, something has got to change, a team that has a player like Fernandes creating chances left and right should not be struggling as badly as the Red Devils are.
The team is all set to go through major changes this summer. Hopefully, Manchester United will get Bruno some help and sign a couple of clinical forwards who can make the most of the skipper’s playmaking prowess.
