As reported by Spanish outlet AS, Manchester United will face competition from Atletico Madrid for the signing of 15m-rated 27-goal forward, Serhou Guirassy. The Guinea international has been stellar in the Bundesliga this season.

Guirassy has made 25 appearances for VfB Stuttgart while recording a total of 27 goals and two assists. The 27-year-old has the second most goals scored in the Bundesliga this season, second only to Harry Kane.

Man United would obviously love to have a player of his quality in their team, but Atletico Madrid will not make it easy for them. It is being reported that Guirassy can fetch up to £40m on the market, but his £15m release clause is more affordable.

Both Atletico and Manchester United will have no trouble affording Guirassy’s release clause so his signing is pretty much anyone’s game now. But, the Red Devils have a lot to gain by signing the Guinea international.

The Old Trafford squad have a lot of quality and big names in their attacking lineup. However, what they do lack is a veteran presence. Someone to lead and help the team nurture young talent.

Now, Guirassy is only 27 but he is way more experienced than all of Manchester United’s current forwards. He would provide a great boon both on the pitch and off the pitch.

Moreover, Rasmus Hojlund‘s development could greatly benefit from having a player like Serhou Guirassy on the team. Hopefully, Manchester United will be able to seal a deal for him this summer.
