Manchester United will have to beat Arsenal for the signing of a player dubbed as the next Erling Haaland
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United could be in danger of losing their longtime target to Arsenal. The Red Devils have been wanting to sign Bejamin Sesko for almost two years now, however, the Gunners have also entered the fray now.
20-year-old Sesko has been stellar during his time with RB Leipzig. He has made 37 appearances while recording 13 goals and two assists for the German side. His performance on the pitch has led to people dubbing him as the next Erling Haaland.
Sesko reportedly has a release clause of €50m and Arsenal would be more than happy to pay that amount for such a quality striker. Man United have been after the Slovenian so they will also not mind paying the above mentioned amount.
However, Arsenal might have a lead over Manchester United in the race for Sesko. The Gunners are guaranteed to be playing in European competitions next season. On the other hand, The Red Devils are still fighting to qualify.
If Sesko is to take the next step and move to the Premier League he will most likely want to play Champions League football. Unfortunately for the Old Trafford squad, Erik ten Hag’s failure might cost them their long time target.
However, Man United aren’t completely out of the race. They have a very slim chance of making it to Europe next season. If the Dutchman can finally get a win streak going there might be some light at the end of the tunnel for United.
