Manchester United coach sheds light on his half-time talk against Bournemouth

Manchester United once again failed to get the best of Bournemouth. Tonight’s game started poorly for the Red Devils. Their lack of urgency on defence caught up to them early on as they conceded within 20 minutes.

Bruno Fernandes put the team back in the game by scoring in his third consecutive Premier League game. However, United were once again sloppy on defence and Bournemouth snuck another past Andre Onana.

As the Red Devils went into the tunnel at halftime, Erik ten Hag must’ve been fuming. The Dutchman spoke to BBC after the game and revealed what he told his team after watching them struggle for 45 minutes. Let’s have a look.

“Two things. Stay in formation in possession and don’t get erratic. And number two do your job defensively.”

The Dutchman was right to tell his team to tighten up on defence. They paid heed to his words and the Red Devils did not concede again for the rest of the game. However, Bournemouth did concede after they gave away a penalty.

It was clear to see that United desperately wanted to win tonight. They have only gotten two points out of their last three games. Their campaign for UCL qualification is all but over at this point.

Fingers will now begin to get pointed at Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has already been under a lot of fire for most of the season. However, now that we’re so close to the end the heat will definitely start getting to the Manchester United coach.

The only thing that the team has any chance of achieving this season is winning the FA Cup. They will soon be facing Coventry in the Semifinals.

If Erik ten Hag fails to reach and win the finals of the FA Cup this season will end as a total failure and he could very well end up being axed.
