Manchester United’s out-of-favor star, Antony reacts to Erik ten Hag praise with one-word message
Manchester United star, Antony was stellar during the team’s recent showdown against Chelsea. The Brazilian gave a long overdue performance and assisted on the goal that put the Red Devils ahead. The team may have lost the game, but Antony’s efforts were praiseworthy.
Erik ten Hag followed suit and praised the out-of-favor star. The Brazilian reacted to the praise by sharing a picture on Instagram, containing a one-word message. The 24-year-old wrote “Work” against a picture of him coming out.
Antony has surely had to put in a lot of work to finally start making some kind of contribution to the team. His Ajax days show what he is capable of and the journey back has been full of hard work for the Brazilian star.
Antony has been putting the hard yards in and is getting rewarded for it. His assists against Chelsea was his first goal contribution in the Premier League this season. Now that he’s got the lid off, it’ll be interesting to see how his season develops.
Manchester United spent £85m to acquire Antony. It only makes sense that they give the 24-year-old time a bit of a chance before they go ahead and try to recoup their money. However, the situation might not favor the Brazilian.
The Red Devils are planning a big summer overhaul and will need funds. Moving Antony could be one way for them to generate money. But currently, there are no indications of such a drastic move.
