Darts sensation and Manchester United fan Luke Littler says Liverpool could win 7-0 at Old Trafford
17-year-old Luke Littler, who became a sensation after his heroics at the PDC World Championship earlier this year, a die-hard Manchester United fan who sees Liverpool beat his side at Old Trafford this weekend.
Even though the last two meetings between the sides at Old Trafford have ended in the home side getting the better of Liverpool, albeit by small margins, the confidence this time is not telling. The FA Cup victory for United over the Merseysiders not very long ago should have instilled a sense of confidence, but that is far from reality.
Considering Liverpool are in the title race and have to win everything coupled with the fact that they have to avenge the FA Cup loss puts United in a vulnerable spot. Littler, assessing the Red Devils’ chances, did not confidently say that his team could win over Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Liverpool side.
Here is what he had to say via BBC:
“This could be anything. It could be another 0-0 draw, a United win like in the FA Cup… or 7-0 to Liverpool again. I really hope we get something, but I’m not too confident. 1-1”
Not so assured!
Despite his allegiance to Manchester United, Littler opted for realism over blind optimism in his prediction for the match’s outcome. While expressing a desire for a positive result for his team, Littler’s cautious tone reflected the daunting task ahead for United as they prepare to face one of the league’s top contenders.
In forecasting a potential scoreline of 1-1, Littler struck a balance between hope and realism, acknowledging the possibility of a hard-fought draw while recognizing the formidable challenge posed by Liverpool’s formidable attacking prowess.
As fans eagerly await the highly anticipated showdown at Old Trafford, we can somewhat sense the uncertainty around the result against our visitors. Hopefully, it is not too bad, or better, just enough for United to get three points.
