Manchester United Harry Maguire star backs Erik ten Hag

Manchester United star, Harry Maguire made his 200th appearance for the club during the game against Brentford. Unfortunately for him, the Bees spoiled his party and completely dominated United taking 31 shots at their goal.

Erik ten Hag’s team on the other hand struggled throughout the game and only took 11 shots. The team failed to create any meaningful chances. When they did somehow get through on goal the players were once again wasteful.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the Red Devils did not even dominate 10 minutes of their game against Brentford. Despite the tough moments they’ve had Maguire still backs Erik ten Hag and appreciates him.

Let’s have a look at what he had to say while remembering his memories at the club in preparation for his 200th appearance. (Manchester Evening News)

“We got beaten in a Europa League final under Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] in a penalty shootout, which was tough to take. But to [win a trophy] in Erik’s first season was really impressive.”

Maguire also regularly praises Ten Hag for giving chances to the young players at Old Trafford. However, for all his good qualities Erik ten Hag still hasn’t been able to find success with Man United.

The Dutchman overachieved during his first season and everything since has been eye-opening and tough to take, especially for the fans. If things don’t change it wouldn’t be surprising if Ten Hag loses the support of his players.
