Man United need a ‘new team’ says pundit as he suggests new targets
Welsh football manager, Dean Saunders doesn’t have faith in the Manchester United squad. Saunders recently sat down with talkSPORT and gave his thoughts on the current team. Let’s have a look at what he had to say.
“Here, I can make four good decisions for you now because it needs clearing the decks, they need a new team. Sign [Ivan] Toney, [Bryan] Mbeumo, [Kaoru] Mitoma and Lewis Dunk.
Saunders went on to add that if the shirts were switched during their game against Brentford, the Red Devils would’ve had a better team than the Bees. This is something that should not be happening to a club as big as Man United.
Saunders said that you never know what to expect from Erik ten Hag‘s team. One week they’re fighting for their life and the next they have no energy on the pitch. He says that Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo, Kaoru Mitoma and Lewis Dunk are four players who will always give their all.
Toney is a prolific producer and has not missed a step since his return to action. He has recorded four goals and one assist in 11 appearances this season. Bryan Mbeumo is a decent right winger, but the Red Devils are already linked to Michael Olise and will likely not pursue the 24-year-old.
Kaoru Mitoma will be an excellent backup for Marcus Rashford and could even replace him since the Manchester-born star doesn’t even seem close to his previous level at the moment. Mitoma has made nine goal contributions in 26 appearances this season.
Lastly, Lewis Dunk would be an excellent signing. He is a veteran of the game and will go a long way towards helping the team develop their young players. The 32-year-old has two years left on his contract with Brighton and should be a cheap signing.

It is no surprise that United needs to make changes at every level and Dean Saunders has put up some fine candidates. It’ll be interesting to see whether Sir Jim Ratcliffe ends up bringing one of these players to Old Trafford this summer.
