Man United will face stiff competition in the race to sign Belgian star.
As reported by Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), West Ham will be competing with Manchester United as both sides try to sign Belgium star, Amadou Onana. The 22-year-old has been having an impressive campaign with Everton.
Onana has made 29 appearances recording three goals and one assist. He is usually deployed as a defensive midfielder and does an amazing job at moving the ball forward and covering his defensive line.
The Belgian star also featured in his team’s 2-2 draw against England. One of the goals scored by Youri Tielemans was thanks to a great pass by Onana. The 22-year-old also completed 94% of his passes during that game.
There was also a young midfielder playing for England. Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo also put on a show that night and ended up claiming the MOTM award. The Red Devils could soon add Amadou Onana into the mix with 18-year-old Mainoo.
However, West Ham will not make it easy for the Red Devils. Unless Man United can guarantee regular playing time to the 22-year-old they might lose their target to their Premier League rivals.
However, giving playing time to Onana shouldn’t be too much of an issue. There has been a lot of talk suggesting that Casemiro could depart from Old Trafford at the end of the season.
