Man United star says “moment I will never forget” after making his international debut

Manchester United star, Kobbie Mainoo finally made his much-awaited international debut for England. He came on in the 75th minute in what turned out to be a 1-0 loss against South American giants, Brazil.

The 18-year-old star looked comfortable on the pitch but unfortunately didn’t have enough time to make an impact. Here’s what he had to say after the conclusion of the game. (h/t Fabrizio Romano)

“Special feeling making my senior England debut at Wembley and in front of my family”.

“A moment I will never forget”.

Every kid dreams of playing at Wembley. However, to do it in front of your family while gearing up for your country has to be a special feeling for the young star. If anything his first cap will serve as motivation for Mainoo.

At just 18 he has made himself a key figure for the Red Devils and has made it to the England squad. It’s scary to imagine just how good Mainoo will be in a few years. However, both Manchester United and the Three Lions need to prioritize the player’s health.

If Kobbie ends up picking injuries this early on in his career the results could be disastrous. Erik ten Hag has been starting him in almost every game and should cut back a little to manage his load.

England might only have him for a few days a year but they need to be even more careful. There aren’t many things that are as physically draining as international football.
