Manchester United will have to take on Barcelona if they wish to sign an exciting South American prospect
As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United and Barcelona are both in the running to sign South American startlet, Estevao Willian. The 16-year-old’s game has a little bit of resemblance with Lionel Messi‘s game.
It isn’t a comparison, but rather a compliment to the young star. The Catalan club has already added one Brazilian wonderkid to their lineup with the signing of Vitor Roque. Now, Estevao seems to be next in line.
However, Barcelona might not get the 16-year-old if Manchester United get to have their say. The Brazilian Winger is the latest of many young stars that the Old Trafford team is keen on signing.
However, Barcelona are known for discovering and nurturing young talent. So, Estevao could find the Catalan Club’s project to be better than that of Manchester United.
The 16-year-old will also have an easier time fitting into the Spanish side since he won’t be faced with a language barrier. Over here in England, Estevao would have to stick to English which isn’t his first language.
Moreover, Barcelona consistently promotes their La Masia kids to their first team. Something that the Red Devils also do, but not as much as the Catalan Club.

There are a lot of factors that can influence the signing of the 2007-born star. Manchester United seem to be fighting a losing battle and will need a miracle to turn things their way. But if Tottenham Hotspur can steal Lucas Bergvall from Barcelona then it goes without saying that the Red Devils can steal Estevao Willian.
