Manchester United are now eyeing a teammate of Jadon Sancho teammate at Borussia Dortmund
As reported by Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are looking to move on to Donyell Malen who is teammates with Jadon Sancho. Both players are currently playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Malen is a solid winger and has been crucial to Dortmund’s success in the Champions League. In 33 appearances, the 25-year-old has recorded 13 goals and five assists for the German side. United could really use his help on attack.
There has been some talk of the Red Devils proposing a swap deal. Some believe that Manchester United could try and swap Donyell Malen for Jadon Sancho. This would be a win-win for both sides since the English winger anyway doesn’t look forward to going back under Erik ten Hag.
The two have quite a history and the Dutchman cut Sancho for four months before he was shipped back to Germany on a loan. It is believed that the 23-year-old wouldn’t be happy to go back if Ten Hag is still there.
Malen would be a solid option to add depth to the Red Devils attack. The team is often underhanded due to injuries so having a quality winger like the Dutch would be ideal. However, United are currently not qualifying for the UCL.
Malen has been enjoying the European Championships with Dortmund. So, the Red Devils not being a part of it could be a dealbreaker for the Dutch winger. But, Manchester United still have a chance to make it.
