Part owner of Man United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe reveals his position on Erik ten Hag and his comeback efforts
As reported by Daily Star, Manchester United owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe doesn’t seem to be convinced that Erik ten Hag is the right man to take the team forward. The Dutchman has been trying to salvage the season for his team following a disastrous first half.
The Red Devils need to qualify for UCL and win the FA Cup if they wish to make something out of their failures. The Premier League is expected to get five spots in the UCL next season so Ten Hag has been started a late push for the fifth position on the table.
Tottenham Hotspur are currently occupying the fifth position and are six points ahead of United. Aston Villa are at fourth and are nine points in hand but the Red Devils have a game in hand.
The chances of Erik ten Hag leading Manchester United are low, but the team can definitely pull it off. The FA Cup on the other hand could prove to be much more difficult for the Dutchman.
If the Red Devils beat Coventry City and make it to the FA Cup Finals, they will have to face either Chelsea or Man City. Both teams are set up well and will prove to be tough to take down for Ten Hag.
The Daily Star also reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe already has a replacement in mind if the Dutchman fails. Gareth Southgate has emerged as the leading candidate to take the helm of Manchester United after Erik ten Hag.
