Manchester United have decided on the long-term future of their loanee, Mason Greenwood
As reported by Spanish publication Marca, Manchester United loanee, Mason Greenwood will not be continuing at Old Trafford. It seems like the Old Trafford folks have decided to sell the English winger to the highest bidder.
This report comes shortly after club officials were spotted in Getafe. John Murtough took a trip to Getafe and was later spotted meeting Deco in Barcelona. It could be that United are trying to move Greenwood to the Catalan side.
The 22-year-old has previously admitted that playing for Barca would be a dream come true for him. So, while he could be in Spain next season it probably won’t be with Getafe. His current team cannot afford to pay the Red Devils’ asking price.
Moreover, if Greenwood continues to put up impressive performances United’s asking price will only go up. In 26 appearances the 22-year-old has recorded eight goals and five assists.
There is still a lot of season still left to be played so we will likely be seeing Mason add to his tallies. The fans would love to see him back at Old Trafford but as expected, this would be a risky move for the new owners.
The English winger has a lot of controversy attached to him and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will surely not want to start his reign with criticism and backlash. So, INEOS will be quick to find a new home for Greenwood.
