Manchester United have been quick to clear their debt thanks to investment made by INEOS chief, Sir Jim Ratcliffe

As reported by The Athletic (paid subscription), Manchester United have been able to clear £120m from their debt thanks to a £234.2m investment made by Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The INEOS chief has already begun to take the club in the right direction.

While Ratcliffe’s cash injection was originally supposed to be for improving infrastructure, the club thought it’d be beneficial to pay off their high-interest loan. With that handled United can now focus on the club’s facilities.

The biggest change that we are about to see thanks to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival is the revival of Old Trafford. The INEOS chief wishes to bring the Red Devils’ home stadium back to its former glory.

Along with that INEOS have been successful in bringing some much-needed structure back to the club. The signing of Omar Berrada and the impending arrival of Dan Ashworth are both excellent moves for the team.

There have been nothing but positive indicators for the future ever since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took the helm of Manchester United. He and his team are also planning to do a squad overhaul this summer.

However, before the squad overhaul even begins, they might have to get rid of Erik ten Hag. But that might not be necessary if the Dutchman manages to help his team qualify for UCL.

Will Erik ten Hag become the first to be sacked during the Jim Ratcliffe era at United?
