Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand listens as Man City star sheds light on his struggles.
A video of Man City superstar, Kevin de Bruyne and Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has been making the rounds on X. The 32-year-old has been playing professional football for an extremely long time.
So much so that it seems to have consumed his life for a long period now, but he considers it to be a worthy sacrifice. Here’s what De Bruyne had to say during his conversation with Ferdinand.
“I would say I lost everything social”
“I moved here when I was 14 and that’s the time when you start meeting your friends outside a little bit”
De Bruyne believes that moving here and playing football from such a young age led to his social life being very dry. He added that because of this sacrifice, he also lost his social skills during the start of his career.
However, The Belgian has no hard feelings about the situation and seems to be happy with his sacrifice. Throughout his career, De Bruyne has made 598 appearances while recording 145 goals and 249 assists.
Sacrificing some outings during your childhood seems to be a good tradeoff when you’re such an accomplished player. However, success isn’t guaranteed so the Belgian deserves props for what he has achieved through sacrifices and hard work.
It was a refreshing sight to see a Man City player open up and share his struggle with someone who is celebrated as a legend of their bitter rivals Manchester City.
