Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta has finally replied to the comments made by Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand. The former Red Devil recently said Arteta would leave Arsenal in a heartbeat for a move to Old Trafford.

With Erik ten Hag’s job in jeopardy, a lot of people have been linked to the club. Recently, Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane was also linked to the club as reports came out stating that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a big admirer of the Frenchman.

The Arsenal coach was also caught in talks but his mind seems to be fixed with the Gunners. Let’s have a look at what he had to say regarding all the talk ignited by Rio Ferdinand. (h/t Metro)

“they have their opinions. The only thing is that we normally highlight the ones that are not very positive.”

Instead of answering Ferdinand’s claim, Arteta went after the media instead and urged them to give more positive reports. However, he didn’t seem frustrated and said that it is part of being a manager for such high-profile clubs.

The Arsenal coach clearly understands that working on the big stage leaves him vulnerable to claims and takes from the media and pundits. Arteta and his team seem to be in good form and the Spanish manager has a shot at winning the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners are currently five points behind Liverpool but also have a game in hand. Manchester United on the other hand are sitting at sixth. They need 11 points to catch up to the top four.
