Marcus Rashford says the critics that doubt his love for Manchester United need more ‘humanity’

A lot of people have recently begun to question the love that Marcus Rashford has for Manchester United. This critique of the 26-year-old has likely stemmed from his discipline issues that have propped up in recent times.

Back in January, the Manchester-born star was suspended for one game after he called in sick following a tequila bender in Belfast. Ever since then, people have begun to ask, if he loves the club so much why would he do such things?

It’s not like Rashford is a child, so giving him a pass makes no sense. However, the 26-year-old had a lot to say about the situation while speaking with The Player Tribune. Let’s have a look.

“if you start questioning my commitment to this club and my love for football and bringing my family into it, then I’d simply ask you to have a bit more humanity.”

He added that he doesn’t mind when people question or doubt him. Rashford also seemed to be optimistic about Manchester United’s chances this season. He believes that their best is yet to come.

However, United are not even on track to qualify for the UCL at the moment. So, if their “best” doesn’t come soon, this season will be a waste for the Red Devils and Erik ten Hag.

He also took some responsibility as Rashford believes that the team has to put more work in and the one to kick it off needs to be him.

Marcus Rashford has a long road ahead of him if he wants Manchester United to be in the UCL next season. Hopefully, he will start putting up the performances that the club expects him to. It’s not a good look for the Manchester-born star to be trailing behind 21-year-old Rasmus Hojlund.
