Manchester United could lose out on signing Borussia Dortmund to PL Rivals Arsenal
Manchester United have long been linked to Borussia Dortmund striker, Donyell Malen. The Dutch national was being pursued by the club in January as well, but the Red Devils failed to put pen to paper.
Malen’s performance in Germany has prompted a few Premier League clubs to take notice so the Red Devils are not alone. In 30 appearances, the 25-year-old has recorded 12 goals and four assists. Numbers that Erik ten Hag is in desperate need of from his team.
However, Manchester United might have lost their chance as Malen recently revealed his ‘beautiful PL dream’ while speaking on Voetbal Zone. Let’s have a look at what the Dutch striker had to say. (h/t The Sun)
“I think because I played in England as a youth and then it is a dream to play in the Premier League, then I think that is a beautiful dream
“I went to Arsenal so yes, them, I want Arsenal, my favourite club.”
The 25-year-old added that he wanted his breakthrough to come during his time with the Gunners. However, he left them prematurely as regular football was out of sight for Malen during his time with Arsenal.
Now, he is a star and a lot of teams are looking to sign him. So, if Arsenal join the fray they’ll instantly become favorites which is bad for Manchester United.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of a backup striker for Rasmus Hojlund and interference from Arsenal could lead them to look for other options.
