In-form Manchester United star set for a spell on the sidelines as injuries woes compound for Erik ten Hag

Injury struggles worse for Erik ten Hag as Rasmus Hojlund is the latest to join the long list of absentees at Manchester United

Manchester United just can’t seem to catch a break from injuries and the latest to join their long list is in-form star, Rasmus Hojlund. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the 21-year-old will be missing 2-3 weeks due to a muscle injury.

The timing of the Dane’s injury couldn’t be worse for the Red Devils. Right when the team was starting to contest for a top-four spot in the Premier League they have lost their most prolific producer.

Erik ten Hag has won four Premier League games in a row and none of them would’ve been possible without Hojlund. The team will surely be facing an uphill battle as they try and climb the leaderboard without their young star.

To make matters worse, Erik ten Hag doesn’t even have any solid options to deploy in place of the Dane. Anthony Martial could’ve been counted on but the French star is out with a groin injury as well.

Now the most likely change for the Dutchman would be to play his Manchester-born star Marcus Rashford as the team’s primary striker, with Antony, Amad Diallo or Alejandro Garnacho deployed on the wings.

The Old Trafford crowd will be hoping for a speedy recovery from 21-year-old Hojlund

United will be beating themselves up over their failure to sign a single striker during January. They were even linked to Karim Benzema and a player of his quality would’ve been the perfect addition at this stage of the season.

Playing a 21-year-old in every game of the season and expecting him to perform is not the right move. Unfortunately, Manchester United and Erik ten Hag have learned this the hard way.

Hopefully, the Dutchman can hold out until Rasmus Hojlund recovers and is ready to take the field again.
